I’ve been creating workouts on the Garage Fitness Girl YouTube channel for 2 years now, and I’m grateful that so many of you follow the channel to stay up-to-date with the new workouts I share each week!

While I’ve always focused quite a bit on strength, cardio, HIIT and tabata style workouts, this was a year of firsts for my channel. I introduced all-standing workouts, walking workouts, EMOM (Every Minute On the Minute), AMRAPs (As Many Reps as Possible) and barbell workouts.

It has been fantastic for me because it keeps things fresh and interesting. Walking workouts, for example, were surprisingly enjoyable and absolutely perfect for cold or rainy days, while the EMOM workouts were a huge hit with you guys!

I just love how the channel has grown and evolved.

I definitely had a hard time choosing my ten favourites for the year given that I’ve created so much new content, but I did it! The following are my personal 10 favourite workouts from 2021. I’d absolutely love to hear which workouts you enjoyed most and what you’d like to see more of in future!

#1 Tight and Toned Arms and Abs! 30 Minute Standing Dumbbell Workout

This 2-in-1 workout combines upper body strength moves with core exercises in an awesome standing-only routine that will tighten and tone arms and abs without you having to get up and down off the floor. No crunches, no planks! I love how this one is split into 2 separate circuits that isolate the upper body and then finishes off targeting the abs.

#2 60 MIN Low Impact HIIT Walking Workout for Weight Loss 6000 Steps

This year I discovered walking workouts during winter when I didn’t want to go outside to get my steps in and I became OBSESSED. This was the first one I created for the Garage Fitness Girl channel and I’m happy to say it turned so many other people onto walking workouts as well. I know these workouts look easy, but don’t be fooled. These workouts burn major calories and will leave you feeling good and drenched in sweat.

#3 Barbell Supersets Workout | 50 Min Full Body Follow Along Workout

Another first for the channel. This workout combines my favourite workout format (supersets) with my favourite piece of equipment (the humble barbell) into one killer weight training workout at home. This workout had me reminiscing on my crossfit days, and I love how strong it made me feel! A great workout for anyone who owns a barbell and is looking to lose fat and gain muscle.

#4 40 Minute Intense Fat Burning HIIT With Weights |Total Body NO REPEAT

OK I still absolutely love a good HIIT workout, and studies show how effective this format is for fat loss. Being ‘no repeats’ means you won’t have to do the same exercise more than once, which keeps things more interesting. I actually kicked off 2021 with this workout and it’s one of those intense sweat sessions that pushes you the entire way, but leaves you feeling so accomplished once you’re finished.

#5 High Intensity Dumbbell AMRAP Workout

The AMRAP format is so tough but so fun at the same time. It’s the ultimate You vs You challenge, and who better to compete with than yourself? This AMRAP workout is packed with all my favourite moves and even though the rounds are short, they’ll push you to your limit and challenge you to give it your all.

#6 Strength Training at Home | Women’s Dumbbell Only Workout

Pure strength training workouts are always a favourite for me, but I especially like how I broke this one up into different circuits that specifically targeted lower body, upper body and abs. A great way to put those dumbbells to good use and target the entire body in one session!

#7 30 Min Leg and Glute Workout with Dumbbells

This is such a killer leg and butt workout, and it’s absolute proof that you can still get strong, lean legs at home using minimal equipment. If you haven’t tried this one yet, give it a go and get ready to feel those jello legs.

#8 Metabolic Supersets | Strength & Cardio Workout (Dumbbells Only)

Combining strength and cardio is my favourite way to get my cardio in! This one’s a favourite because I paired all my favourite strength moves with basic bodyweight moves and limited the rest breaks, so it really packs a punch.

#9 Hardcore HIIT Pyramid Workout| Full Body Workout with Dumbbells

How much fun are pyramid workouts? This dumbbell HIIT workout is a killer and perfect for people who love a challenge! We power through 7 different dumbbell exercises in a pyramid format. That means you’ll perform each exercise for 30 seconds, adding on moves as you climb up the pyramid and then dropping off a move as we move down the pyramid. 30 seconds can sound like a long rest but when all the moves stack on top of each other, you’ll really feel the burn accumulate.

#10 60 Minute Power Hour No Repeat | 500 Calories Burn Workout

This one has it all: weights, cardio and abs in a no repeat format that will stop you from getting bored while you work up a sweat. A true power hour for those who are really into their fitness but like to mix things up to keep it interesting, with an impressive 500 calorie burn.
